Description

Portuguese presidential car, used in the Lisbon bridge inauguration in 1966.
The car was completely restored, no rust, new pneumatic suspension, original working air conditioning, beautiful working condition. There’s plenty of photos of the restoration work.

The Fintail’s styling was led by Friedrich Geiger, who also penned the 300 SL and the extensive use of exterior chrome made the saloon really stand out in the luxury market.
The W112 was available in two saloon variants, a coupe and a cabriolet. This vehicles were equipped with a six cylinder engine with a Bosch mechanical intake manifold injection, which produced in latter models 170 HP. with a top speed of 190 Km/h. This M189 engine , originally from the legendary 300 SL, weighed around 40 kg less than its grey cast iron predecessors, thanks to its light alloy engine block and cylinder head. This reduction in the front axle load, resulted in improved handling which allied with its pneumatic suspension, power steering, and automatic transmission ensured ideal driving comfort. The car cost almost twice the price of the top W111 model, the 220 SE. It displayed substantially more chrome and luxury features.
The 300 SE entered several rallies winning some of them.
The 300 SE Lang is already a very rare car specially in this condition. 1546 were built between 1963-1965, making it even rarer than a coupe 300 SE.

I’m a private seller and will be willing to show you this magnificent car, live in Lisbon.
