According to the car's documentation, this Ponton Cabriolet was delivered to Venezuela on 26 February 1957 in its special duo- paint combination of green 235/green 226. In 1986, the then owner moved to the USA and took the Mercedes with him. In July 2003, he sold the car to a German enthusiast. After arrival in Germany and following a first technical inspection and repairs the car passed the German TüV in January 2004. Immediately after this the paint was completely stripped and built up from bare metal in the current dark green. All the wooden furnishings in the interior were reworked and a new wiring loom was installed. A photographic documentation as well as invoices for all the work done are present. In 2007 the owner moved the car to his second home in Brussels and in 2009 took it with him to Switzerland. In 2012 finally, the Cabriolet was taken over by the vendor and dry stored on his premises since then. The coachwork is still in very good condition with the interior showing a lovely and correct patina. The original numbers matching engine is running well but would benefit from a major service. Recently a new battery was installed, and the master brake cylinder was overhauled. The most recent Swiss Veteran MOT was completed in December 2009.
