Description
The Mercedes is from the year 1991. I bought the car in 2008 at an odometer reading of approx. 180,000 km.
Due to the oil consumption, I had the engine overhauled by a Mercedes specialist / engine overhaul company in February 2009 at a mileage of 188,722 km (invoice of € 8,865).
In October 2009, the automatic transmission was overhauled at a mileage of 192,659 km (invoice € 2,612).
Since then I have driven it for approx. 10,000 km, after which the car has been stored in a dry hall since 2014 with the intention of enjoying it at a later stage, unfortunately that never happened. My son cannot make time for it either because he is too busy and that is why we decided to say goodbye to the car.
As a result, the car has not been used for approx. 9 years and therefore needs major maintenance. But after 9 years of standing still, it started and ran (evenly and quietly).
Everything works, the engine runs like a charm, it shifts like the best and the brakes work, but everything needs to be thoroughly checked after such a long period of not being used. It leaks some coolant (porous pipes) and some oil (sealing rings hardened), for example. The brake lines are no longer the best and need to be replaced due to rust, as they are still the original ones. Most of the parts required for this major service are present (such as suspension spheres, brake hoses, brake discs, callipers, spark plugs, filters, fluids, etc.) and are included in the sale. A rear silencer, similar to the original exhaust, is also among the parts included separately.
The paint / lacquer hardly shows any scratches, the leather is undamaged, in short, a pleasure to see (and to drive). Two notes: minor paint damage on the bumper of the right front door (see last photo) and the hinge of the bonnet (left) does not push in completely, causing the hood to be a bit higher on the left (see first photo).
An excellent opportunity - by doing maintenance work yourself - to acquire an exclusive car at an affordable price.
The car is located in the Netherlands in Emmen, province of Drenthe.
It is recommended to come and view the vehicle prior to placing a bid in order to prevent disappointment. Please contact Catawiki to schedule an appointment.
