Description
"The W123 Series surpassed the W114 model range as the most successful Mercedes-Benz ever. The coupé, featuring a shorter wheelbase than the standard saloon, was introduced in spring 1976. With a 12 month waiting list at launch, Mercedes-Benz enjoyed all the accolades of the world's press who proclaimed its virtues of style, build quality and reliability. Electronic fuel injected engines were introduced in 1980 making the cars faster and more reliable with all cars fitted with power steering from 1982. The build quality at the time set new standards in its class and the W123 compounded the reputation of Mercedes-Benz for engineering advancement and design. The coupés were sleek and elegant with many high profile personalities choosing to own one. In the UK, prices were high but this did not prevent the range, in all forms, from being extremely successful.
This two-owner Mercedes-Benz was originally registered on 1st October 1984 and remained with the original owner until June 2009. The 230 is in delightful condition and most certainly commensurate with a car that has covered a mere 28,200 miles in 34 years. The white coachwork is virtually unmarked and appears to be original and the blue cloth interior is in very good order showing no real signs of wear. Supplied with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 16th October 2018, this Mercedes-Benz 230E is offered for sale without reserve and could well prove to be a shrewd purchase.
