Description

"Mercedes-Benz introduced the W123 four-door versions on 29th January 1976. While there were some technical similarities to their predecessors, the new models were larger in wheelbase and exterior dimensions. In the spring of 1976, a coupé version was introduced on a shorter wheelbase than the saloon. It is a tribute to the car's instant popularity and possibly to the recognised build quality that nine months after its introduction, a premium market had developed in Germany for Mercedes-Benz W123s available for immediate delivery. Customers willing to order new cars from their local authorised dealer for the recommended list price faced waiting times in excess of twelve months. Originally supplies by Zung Fu Company in Hong Kong to Mrs. J. Moore, this Mercedes-Benz was ordered with a good specification including leather trim, electric sunroof, automatic transmission, air conditioning and alloy wheels. The car stayed in Hong Kong until the year 2000 and was then brought back to the UK by the original purchaser. A superb history folder accompanies this 230C with copies of all the work carried out by Zung Fu Company. In 1990, at 109,440 miles, a new gearbox was fitted and in November 2000, the car had a documented engine rebuild. Finished in white with black interior and best described as a good honest example, this righthand drive Mercedes-Benz 230C is supplied with a V5C registration document and is offered for sale without reserve."
