Description

Introduced in 1968, the Paul-Bracq-designed Mercedes-Benz W114/115 platform was a clean-sheet design that remained in production until 1976. Over the course of its eight-year production run, the model was fitted with various four and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines and offered in sedan, coupe, and wagon body styles.

This 1976 Mercedes-Benz 240 D sedan is from the final year of W115 production. Diesel-powered and equipped with an automatic transmission, it was purchased new by Mr. and Mrs. Hanrahan of Corvallis, Oregon, who owned the Mercedes for 37 years.

According to the consignor, the 240 D retains the majority of its lovely and rare Mimosa Yellow paint and its black MB-Tex upholstery. Its original gray rubber floor mats remain, covered by matching Coco Mats. This well-maintained and lovingly detailed 240 D shows original body stampings, tags, plaques, and decals, and it is accompanied by original manuals, service records, picnic accessories, and additional documentation from 1976 to present.

While the W114/115 Mercedes became ubiquitous when new, finding an example as well preserved and maintained as this Mimosa Yellow beauty is incredibly difficult. Showing approximately 140,000 miles at the time of cataloguing, you would never guess it based on its physical condition and stunning overall appearance. Charming and usable, this lovely German sedan is ready to delight its next careful steward.
