Description
William I'Anson Ltd offer for sale the stunning and exacting FIA toolroom recreation Maserati Tipo 61 'Birdcage' by Crosthwaite & Gardiner.
One of just three superb and detail correct toolroom recreations of the striking Maserati Tipo 61 ‘Birdcage’ by the acclaimed engineers Crosthwaite & Gardiner, built alongside an original Tipo 61.
Previously maintained by David Morris, raced by Mark Gillies and by Paddins Dowling at the 2018 Goodwood 76th Members’ Meeting. In the current ownership the Tipo 61 has accrued little mileage, most recently running at a Goodwood GRRC Sprint where it won the ‘Spirit of the Meeting’ award.
Complete with current FIA HTPs, the Tipo 61 would make an interesting, competitive and different entry in ‘50s Sports Car racing, from Motor Racing Legends Stirling Moss Trophy to Goodwood, while being equally at home on the Concours lawn.
