Those who love and admire Maserati and Ferrari will no doubt be familiar with Basel based car dealer Niki Hasler. Together with Mr Hasler the first owner put a fantastic Maserati GranTurismo together in immaculate fashion. The Swiss are renowned for treating their cars neatly as well as having the tendency not to stint when it comes to accessories. This car got every accessory available at the time. The choice means this car looks absolutely stunning. The blue paint finish with the chestnut leather takes this car to the top of style and good taste list. Before it came to the Netherlands in 2018 it had but one owner, with one owner since importation. The total mileage is a mere 46,000 km. Thanks to excellent maintenance this GranTurismo is immaculate. The exterior is finished in “Blu Oceano” contrasting with its “Marrone” leather trim, an ageless classic combination. The bodywork is in peak state and the paint virtually pristine. The owners always took great care and avoided any scuff marks on the rims. The Maserati’s brilliant immaculate interior tells a story of ultimate TLC. The supple leather is free from any damage and looks great. The neat dashboard instrument and switching gear array all function as intended. This Maserati also benefits from the optional Maserati Multimedia System. Maybe not the height of technological prowess these days but back then it was the cat’s whiskers state of the art. It certainly adds to the dashboard’s cachet. Another advantage of the GranTurismo is the spacious rear seating with enough room for kids up to 12 and loads of luggage. It seems the rear has only been used for the latter as the seats looks untouched by the human shape. Maintenance was in hands of top car dealerships, in Switzerland by Hasler and by Kroymans in the Netherlands. The 4.2 litre V8 delivers 405 Ps attached to a six-speed ZF transmission. The engine is straight form Ferrari and sounds fantastic courtesy of the crossplane crankshaft. These dulcet tones are then amplified through the original Maserati sports exhaust. It turns every mile travelled into a feast. This examples suspension is the standard non-adjustable one fitted as opposed to the suspension in later models. It actually benefits the overall level of comfort without having to fiddle about for the correct setting. The brakes are amply suited in shedding any speed and the transmission works smoothly, everything feels nice and accurate.
The car comes with recent maintenance invoices and a full car wallet containing every manual as well as a full stamped service booklet. In summery this Maserati GranTurismo looks and drives divine.
