Introduced in November 1966 Turin Motor Show . Styled at Carrozzeria Ghia by Giorgetto Giugiaro and named after a Sahara Desert wind, the Ghibli rivaled the Ferrari Daytona for straight-line performance .
The Ghibli received what was considered one of the most beautiful and practical GT cars ever built. Its low shark-nosed, aggressive posture and Finest italian couchbuilt with a very imposing shark nose featuring pop up headlights. As a direct competitor to the Lamborghini Miura and the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, the finest Italian automobiles of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Maserati’s new tour de force housed a mammoth 4.7 l quad-cam dry sump V8 designed by Giulio Alfieri and produced over 330 hp. The engine is mated to a five-speed ZF transmission. Resulting in a sprint to 100 in 6.7 seconds and a top speed of over 270 km/h. The live rear axle, leaf springs and enormous torque, all in harmony, made the Maserati Ghibli a very flexible and easy to use GT for her era.

The long bonnet flowing into a sloped roofline fronted by a wide-mouth grille and the prominently displayed trident emblem, the Ghibli was equal parts aggressive and sensual.

Svelte and sexy, the Ghibli has stood the test of time and remains a gorgeous design even by today’s standards.

ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC EXAMPLE

According to the Maserati Classiche build record, this rare Ghibli was completed assembly at Maserati’s Modena workshops in November 1969.

It was built as a Left-Hand-Drive car with the desirable 5-speed manual ZF transmission and was unusually finished in Verde Acqua (106 G21) with “Pelle Nera” Black Connolly leather interior (1560).

Confirmed by Maserati Classiche, chassis no. 416 was delivered new by ETS François Staumont , Bruxeles and is believed to have remained in until in the 80s .

According to a previous registration, the car was sold to Republic of Zaire sports cars intusiast , in 1989 a Portuguese Colector buys the car rand bring him to europe , a full restoration and technically overhaul in 2008-2009 and during the restoration he respray in is favourite color combination . This Beautiful masterpiece remained for 31 years in is colection.

It remain with is original engine and it was one off a few models produced with european specs.

The car remains in beautiful condition today, and appears to have been well-maintained and preserved since the restoration.

The body is very solid, extremely straight and has a wonderful paint job.

All the panel fittings are like they should be and the undercarriage is impressively nice as well (see pictures)

CONDITION INTERIOR

The interior design of the Ghibli is a beautiful place to spend time in. Biege leather upholstery on the seats and interior panels provides a beautiful striking contrast against the Red Exterior Color.

The leather seats are in a wonderful condition, the dashboard is superbly sprayed and all meters have been completely overhauled and are in a perfect working order.

The carpets are in perfect condition without any damages.

ON THE ROAD :
One of the most stunning sports cars ever made, the Ghibli was a worthy rival for the Ferrari Daytona and represents exceptional value for money today, just as it did 40 years ago.
This lovely example of Maserati’s classic Ghibli Coupe offers potent V8 power – controllable with the desirable 5-speed gearbox – all packaged in stunning Giugiaro styling. The car drives great and handles perfect.

It would make an ideal entrant for shows or may be appreciated on the open road for the 4.7-liter engine’s smooth torque and muscular performance.
