Description

For sale is a now rare Maserati Biturbo Si, or type 331 B0SI, from 1987 with the distinctive air intakes on the bonnet.

The engine, a 2 ltr V6 with 18 valves, has a twin turbo and intercooler and features injection instead of a carburettor, as was the case with the early biturbo cars. The timing belt was replaced around August 2014 and it has been driven approximately 7,000 km since then. The clutch with pressure plate and bearing was replaced in July 2017.

This car was imported from Italy to the Netherlands in 1996 and purchased by me in 2013. The car looks good for its age with a few parking dents and rust spots, but these have been kept well-managed partly due to the fact that the car has always been parked indoors.

The interior also looks good considering its age. The headliner needs some maintenance and the stitching on the left side of the driver's seat has become slightly loose. The air conditioning pump works but the system definitely needs to be filled. Since this is an old system, garages in the Netherlands were unable to do so; therefore, it is unknown whether the system is leak-tight or if there are other problems with it.

The central locking system works but the mechanism on the passenger side requires some attention. The car has a working immobiliser but the alarm system (without horn) drains the battery when the car has been parked for a while.

I thoroughly enjoy the car on the rare occasions when I do take it out for a drive, however I do this so rarely that I have decided to sell it; I hope to sell it to an enthusiast who will enjoy it all the more and more frequently. Since I drive the car very little, the brakes may stick a bit.

The car is equipped with the (working) characteristic and rare Maserati clock in the dashboard and the tool kit is complete but has been affected by moisture. The car has been inspected and has a Dutch Periodic Vehicle Inspection valid until 24 October 2023, and it is subject to a transitional road tax regime.

It is recommended to view the car prior to placing a bid in order to prevent disappointment. Please contact Catawiki to schedule an appointment. This Classic Car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button.
