Description
"The Maserati 4200 is an evolution from the previous model 3200 and also a reference to the increase in engine size from 3.2 to 4.2 litres. The Spyder was first unveiled to the public at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show with the Coupé's debut following shortly after at the 2002 Detroit Motor Show. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign it is a true four-seater capable of comfortably seating two adults in the back. The naturally aspirated V8 engine was based on a Ferrari unit producing 385hp at 7000rpm; the manual gearbox is a six-speed unit that was available either as a GT (manual) or CC (Cambiocorsa) using paddle shifts.
Originally registered on 14th January 2003 this stunning looking Maserati is one of seven cars intended to be modified to the 420SM specification. This stunning looking car was built with a view to competing in ‘The Best of Italy Festival’ with Jodie Kidd driving the car. The donor car for this project was a 4200GT Spyder with a naturally aspirated V8 engine. The ECU has been remapped and the body is significantly lighter than a standard Spyder. The exhaust system has been modified and has a town mode or a full-on race mode. A history book accompanies this stunning looking car revealing the last service was carried out on 17th April 2021. Supplied with a tonneau cover and also a passenger seat, this UK registered Maserati is supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 28th May 2022. A fabulous looking car that will turn heads and put a smile on your face whenever or where you drive it.
