Description

"The Maserati 3200 GT was styled by Italdesign whose founder and head, Giorgetto Giugiaro, previously designed, amongst others, the Ghibli, Bora and Merak and so certainly had the pedigree behind him. Sold mainly in Europe, the 3200GT shared the twin-turbo 3.2 litre, V8 featured in the Quattroporte IV and Shamal, revised and tuned to 365bhp. The tail lights consisted of LEDs arranged in the shape of a boomerang. The outer layer of the 'boomerang' provided the brake light, with the inner layer providing the directional indicator. Sadly, the U.S. insisted on bulbs and so, as is so often the way, style made way for bureaucracy. Nevertheless, it went on to be a great success until 2007 with the boomerang rear lights being the more desirable.
First registered on 1st December 2001, this wonderful 3200GT presents incredibly well. The handsome blue metallic paint gleams and the cream interior appears unmarked. The vendor has owned the car since 2011 and has always kept it garaged in a dry de-humidified garage along with his other classic cars. Using it regularly throughout his ownership, the car remained one of his favourites. This can be seen by the fantastic history file that shows servicing invoices going back throughout the car’s 22 year life. Every handbook is present along including the Maserati booklet cloth case. Cambelt changes have been on schedule at 28,000 miles, 60,000 miles and even again in 2022 at 65,000 miles, with the knock sensors being replaced in 2018. All work has been carried out by reputable companies such as Meridian Modena, Autostore and Giallo. The vendor, a fastidious man, always kept his cars in perfect working order and this 3200GT is testament to that.
Supplied with a V5C registration document, full booklet pack and comprehensive service history file. This 3200GT presents beautifully and drives even better. Consigned by Will Penrose.
Guide price £8,000-£12,000
