Description
This March 76S DFV is a unique car 76S powered by the greatest Grand Prix engine of all time, and built exclusively for Guy Edwards and John Lepp to share in the 1976 World Sportscar Championship. Between Edwards' Formula One races in the 1976 Penthouse-Rizla Hesketh 308D, he and Lepp raced the March 76S with Ultramar sponsorship in the Nürburgring 300km, Monza 4hrs and Dijon 500 km.
Soon afterwards the 76S became part of the extensive Rosso-Bianco collection, where it remained un-raced and preserved in time-warp condition in their Museum at Aschaffenburg.
The car has recently been fully re-built, yet retains its original tub and bodywork, and is powered by a Geoff Richardson built 3.0 DFV. First time out since rebuild, the car was immediately on the pace in Peter Auto's CER2 category and is without doubt a potential championship winner - the combination of powerful DFV and significant downforce for the era is makes for an extremely competitive and potent package.
