Description

- Car produced in 1980 in standard configuration and immediately repainted by Lotus in the colours of its main Formula 1 sponsor, Essex Motorsport used by the Essex Team as a VIP car during the 1980-81 seasons. It stayed in the hands of one person, Julian Rivett, Director of Operations for Essex Motorsport and responsible for all aspects of hospitality in the paddock, until 2010. Since then a single owner, who also carried out a restoration for a total of nearly pound 60,000. English number plates and logbook.
- Blue colour with silver band and Essex sponsor, the bodywork was completely restored in 2012 by award-winning specialists and repainted in the original livery. Restored interior, the car is in exceptional condition.
- Mechanics completely restored, engine work carried out by Phil Davison, engine designer for Talbot #39 racing department and responsible for all Sunbeam Lotus quot Works quot engines that secured Talbot victory in the 1981 World Rally Constructors #39 Championship. Reassembly and fine-tuning of all mechanical components carried out by the renowned Skip Brown Cars, specialists in Talbot Sunbeam Lotus cars (both rally and road), since 1980.
- A unique historical car in excellent condition, it followed Team Lotus Essex during the Formula 1 seasons of 1980 and 1981, used as a courtesy car by various Team managers and legends such as Nigel Mansell, Mario Andretti, Elio de Angelis and Carlos Reutemann, as well as Lotus chief Colin Chapman of course.
