The first delivery of this beautiful, and for many iconically designed Lotus Esprit S4 was on July 19th, 1995 in Sweden. Since May 2019, the car has been part of the collection of a true Dutch car enthusiast. But enthusiasts also have their preferences, and so it may happen that the Lotus had to make room for the Jaguar XKR he bought from us. We are delighted with this, because it is not common that a car like this Esprit, and certainly not in this beautiful condition, can be offered.

Who can’t remember the white Esprit James Bond even managed to move under water? A direct evolution is this S4. And it must be said: the quality, finishing touch and certainly the performance have improved a lot since. It is a unique car in every way that does not deny its pedigree and Lotus founder Colin Chapman could still have been enthusiastic about the design and handling. Certainly the latter was highly regarded on the list that his cars had to meet. Although low weight has always been number one at Lotus, this has changed somewhat over time by

the influence of safety, regulations and construction. But those who drop behind the wheel for the first time hardly notice. The car feels light, you feel exactly what it does and you can drive it to the limit without feeling overconfident. A wonderful sports car that is propelled by a 243 hp 4 cylinder DOCH engine with a turbo. Excellent performance can be achieved with this.

Perhaps more importantly, as drivers you do not need to have above-average driver capabilities because driving is very easy. And that is a compliment that many other sports cars can dream of. The essentially not too complicated technology also ensures that maintenance costs remain within limits, which is something we sometimes see differently in this class. The comfortable driving is therefore a big plus when covering long distances. Something for which the Esprit, partly due to the large and easily accessible luggage compartment, is ideal.

The previous owner had the Lotus extensively taken care of by a specialist. In addition to a major overhaul, the timing belt, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, wishbone bushes, V-belts, brake discs and battery were replaced. The total bill amounted to more than € 5,000, which of course is also included. For the time being, the current and neat mileage of 97,251 km is allowed. can be raised again without the need for maintenance or repairs.
