A beautifully presented example of Lotus's iconic lightweight sports car, this 1966 Lotus Elan S2 Convertible has enjoyed the rare distinction of just two owners from new. The current owner purchased the Elan from its original owner in Littlehampton, West Sussex, in 1991 and subsequently set about an extensive restoration, completed in August of that year. The work included a comprehensive body off restoration together with a full engine rebuild, returning the car to excellent mechanical and cosmetic order. Included in the work was a new galvanised chassis along with suspension components fitted by renowned Lotus specialists Miles Wilkins of Fibreglass Services ltd.

Finished in smart red coachwork, this Elan presents very well, complemented by a well-kept interior. Following its restoration, the car has been dry stored and used only very sparingly, helping to preserve the work undertaken over three decades ago. More recently, the Elan has been recommissioned and serviced, and it comes to market with a fresh MoT, ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian. With its exceptional two owner provenance, long term ownership, extensive restoration and desirable Series 2 specification. Accompanying the car is a sizeable history file including many sundry bills, invoices, its invoice detailing the restoration work, its current MoT test certificate and its current UK registration document.
