The Lincoln Continental is a name synonymous with American luxury. Nineteen sixty-one marked the first year of the fourth-generation Lincoln Continental, and with it came a radical redesign by Ford Design Vice President Elwood Engel. The most notable aspect of the new Lincoln was its size. It was much smaller than the outgoing model, in fact it was the smallest car produced by Lincoln since before World War II. One of the more notable design cues of the fourth-generation Lincoln Continentals was their rear-hinged “suicide doors.” The fourth generation Continental was produced through the 1969 model year. In 1966, Lincoln produced 3,180 examples of the Continental Convertible.

This 1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible is presented with black paint that is complimented by a white convertible top. The car is powered by a 462-cid, 340-hp V-8 engine which features four barrel carburation. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission. The engine and transmission have both been rebuilt. Power equipment on the car includes the convertible top, windows, steering and brakes. The interior is completed in tan and features a radio and air conditioning. Included with the car are original owner’s manuals.
