Description

This remarkably original, museum-quality Land Rover Series III was delivered new to Richard Paine of Bar Harbor, Maine. Mr. Paine was a legendary collector of early automobiles and founded the nonprofit Seal Cove Auto Museum as a way to share his passion with the public. Occasionally, he would purchase new automobiles, drive them sparingly, and then put them into heated storage with minimal mileage. Such was the case with this incredible Land Rover.

The consignor, a prominent collector of the world’s most significant cars, notes that the Land Rover still retains its original paint, incredibly wellpreserved original interior, and original engine and running gear. With under 5,800 miles at the time of cataloguing, the consignor reports that the Land Rover still runs and drives extremely well. The Series III even retains its Seal Cove garage key fob and 1974 Gulf service sticker, and the 1974 Maine registration sticker remains on the windshield.

Finished in the fantastic color of Marine Blue and accompanied by instruction and maintenance manuals, this Land Rover Series III is the result of a lifetime of careful preservation. This is a significant opportunity to acquire one of the lowest-mileage and most original early Land Rovers in existence.
