Description
"The Range Rover is a large luxury four-wheel drive sport utility vehicle launched in 1970 and is now in its fourth-generation. In 1967, the first Range Rover prototype was built with the classic Range Rover shape clearly discernible although with a different front grille and headlight configuration. The design of the Range Rover was eventually finalised and signed off in 1969. Some 25 years after the introduction of the first-generation Range Rover, the second-generation Range Rover model designation P38 was introduced for the 1995 model year with an updated version of the Rover V8 engines. There was also the option of a 2.5 litre BMW six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. This was a result of BMW's subsequent ownership of Rover Group and hence the Land Rover brand. The new model offered more equipment and was positioned above the Land Rover Discovery to face the increased competition in the SUV marketplace. This model was the last to feature the Rover V8 engine and interior leather supplied by Connolly who sadly went out of business in 2002.
Originally registered on 14th May 1999 this fabulous P38 Range Rover has only covered 27,007 miles from new and as such presents in exceptional condition. The Aspen Silver coachwork is virtually unmarked as is the beige leather interior. Supplied by H. R. Owen in Park Royal, London this one owner vehicle has had a charmed life, always garaged and often chauffeur driven. We are advised T293 ELU drives as good as she looks, with no known faults. Aesthetically these Range Rovers are pleasing to look at and this example being the HSE model benefits from a very high specification including air conditioning, electric seats, heated seats and cruise control. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 5th April 2024, these P38 Range Rovers are, quite rightly, increasing in popularity. One owner, low mileage examples such as this will certainly appeal to the more discerning collector.
