Description
Originally registered in September 1973 this Suffix 'B' Range Rover presents well in Tuscan Blue. This convertible example was believed to have been converted by Special Vehicle Conversions (SVC) Ltd. in the '80s. SVC was a UK based coachbuilder, which capitalised on demand for the incredibly cool drop top RRC, made famous by none other than Roger Moore in the 1983 Bond film 'Octopussy.'
In 2014, the RRC was removed from long-term storage in the UK, at which point a preliminary restoration and recommissioning was completed. In 2019, the car was then acquired by a new owner who had a full and thorough restoration performed in the UK, this included steps to enhance the vehicle's useability and enjoyment, including the addition of the rear bench seat, fabrication of front and rear roof covers, and a beautiful wood custom wine bar!
Additionally, the last owner had the vehicle repainted. Factory OEM wing mirrors (it was noted these were very difficult to source) were also added. This restoration work performed under their ownership was carried out by Warren Kennedy of Classic Restorations Ltd., a well-known UK based restorer.
Subsequently, the last owner exported the vehicle to the US and serviced the vehicle at British European Motors in Northern California. This included an overhaul of the suspension, performed in 2021. In preparation for the cars return to the UK the car benefitted from a coolant and brake fluid flush and an oil change. Suffix 'B' Range Rovers are rare and even more so as a convertible. This stunning example is ready to turn heads again this summer. Consigned by Dominic Lake
