Description
- Ex-Carabinieri Forestali Lombardia Land Rover Defender
- Left-hand-drive example powered by a 2.5-litre TD5 engine
- Unique interior makeover including orange leather trim
The Land Rover Defender has become synonymous with off-road capability and rugged, no-nonsense motoring—an association that began with the launch of the legendary Series One in 1948. Although the visual style evolved throughout the Series II, III, and subsequent models, the now-iconic looks and dependable functionality remained largely the same. In 1990, the newest incarnation was handed an updated name: Defender.
This example rolled off the production line in 2002 before serving as a Carabinieri Forestali vehicle. It has since been treated to an extensive visual makeover by K Works, turning the ex-service hardtop Defender 90 into something quite unique.
The “military green” exterior is paired with a black roof, trim, and wheel arches. An aftermarket front grille, protective light cages, smoked LED lights, and an exterior black mesh have also been added to complete the purposeful look. The interior has been finished with the same attention to detail and has been re-trimmed in orange leather paired with a complementary cream fabric with an orange “coral” motif running throughout. A wood-rimmed steering wheel completes the makeover, while passengers on the side-facing benches in the rear have an attractive synthetic teak floor underfoot as opposed to the exposed factory metal finish, as well as an internal insert behind the seats.
This Land Rover Defender 90 is a left-hand-drive example powered by the formidable and well-proven 2.5-litre TD5 powerplant, making this the ideal companion for a new owner keen for adventure but attentive to trends. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/pa23.
