The Lancia Delta is undoubtedly one of the most iconic sports cars of its time. With six consecutive World Rally Championship constructors’ titles and four drivers’ titles, it is no wonder that the Delta has become a legend in the world of rally racing.
The Delta was driven by some of the most renowned rally drivers of its time, including Miki Biasion, Juha Kankkunen, Didier Auriol, and Markku Alén, all of whom left their mark on the car’s legacy.
The Delta HF platform was Lancia’s first all-wheel-drive car, based on the drive system developed for the Lancia Delta S4 Group B car. It was a game-changer in the rally racing world, as the all-wheel-drive system provided unparalleled handling and control on both gravel and tarmac surfaces.
The Delta HF underwent several upgrades throughout its production, including the 8v and 16v Integrales. However, it was the Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione that really took the world by storm.
Launched at the 1991 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Integrale Evo quickly became known as the ultimate Delta. It was a true masterpiece of Italian engineering, boasting a displacement of 1,995cm3 and an acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.4 seconds.
The Integrale Evo was not just a rally car; it was a symbol of Italian excellence in engineering and design. Its sleek, aerodynamic lines were complemented by a powerful engine, providing an unforgettable driving experience. The car’s success in the rally world, coupled with its striking appearance, made it a highly coveted model even today.
The Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione II was a limited-edition car that was produced between 1993 and 1994. It was the final iteration of the Delta HF Integrale, and it featured several improvements over its predecessor, including a more powerful engine, improved suspension, and upgraded brakes.
When the car was originally released, it was only available in two colors: Monza Red and Giallo Ginestra (yellow). It featured unique bodywork, including wider fenders and a more aggressive front bumper. The interior was also upgraded, with Recaro seats and a Momo steering wheel.
Owning a Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione 2 is like owning a piece of history. It represents the pinnacle of Italian sports car engineering, and its rarity only adds to its appeal. The car’s success in the rally world cemented its place in automotive history, and today it remains a favorite among collectors and enthusiasts alike.
