Please note that this lot will need to be collected in Modena, Italy.

Chassis 207 was first campaigned in the final round of the 1985 World Rally Championship under the famous Lancia Martini team. Driven by noted Finnish drivers Markku Alén and Ilkka Kivimäki, chassis 207 finished an impressive 2nd overall at the Lombard RAC Rally, separated by less than 60 seconds from the winners after 63 stages and 880 km.

In 1986 chassis 207 rejoined the Group B action in the European Rally Championship, still in Martini livery but entered by Jolly Club, it first appeared at the Ypres 24 Hour Rally in Belgium driven by Fabrizio Tabaton and Luciano Tedeschini. Unfortunately an accident shortened their race and the car was a DNF. Chassis 207 next appeared at the Halkidiki Rally in Greece, now with Scuderia Griffone in Esso Black-Gold livery. Again driven by Tabaton and Tedeschini chassis 207 finished 1st OA, taking home its first victory. Tabaton and Tedeschini finished up chassis 207’s season at the Rallye d'Antibes in France where unfortunately they were forced to retire due to mechanical issues.

Chassis 207 continued its competition career throughout 1987 and 1988 where it was driven by Gian Battista Rosella in the European Autocross Championship before being retired from official competition.

With a clear chain of ownership up to the current owner, a racing pedigree from the ultimate period of the Group B Rally Championship and Abarth Classiche Certification, chassis 207 easily ranks among the finest examples available for purchase of these legendary machines.
