This rather nice Lancia Beta HPE 1600, supplied on the 13th January 1978 in Italy, has spent a considerable time in the underground garage of a Tuscan hotel. This 36,451 km Beta is superbly original and unadulterated. The bodywork is in prime condition with every body panel fitting together perfectly. The original mustard yellow interior trim is in fantastic condition. The ‘Rosso York’ finish is original and still has a brilliant shine to it. The original underbody is sound without any rust formation at all. The 1600 HPE`s had a production run of 2,500, making this a rare find. HPE stands for High Performance Estate and was designed by Pininfarina. The cars` features, a cross between a hatchback and shooting-break, were well ahead of their time. The car has undergone substantive mechanical attention in recent times. Mechanically as well as visually this car is in pristine condition. Really; we have never seen such a perfectly preserved and sound Beta HPE!
