A unique vehicle manufactured by the French Lancia factory and built by one of the best known and most renowned coachbuilders of the golden age of French coachbuilding: Marcel Pourtout

According to the archives of the time, 36 convertibles and 1 coach were produced on this base. Carrosserie Pourtout was a French coachbuilding company founded in 1925 by Marcel Pourtout.

The rich and famous bought their chassis from their favourite manufacturers and shipped them to Pourtout for bespoke design work. Georges Clémenceau, Prime Minister of France from 1917 to 1920, owned a Pourtout vehicle.

Up until the outbreak of the Second World War, Pourtout had worked on Bugatti, Voisin, Ballot, Minerva, Delage, Hispano-Suiza, Delahaye, Delaunay-Belleville, Talbot-Lago, etc.

In 1933, Marcel met Georges Paulin, a dental technician who preferred to work on advanced aerodynamic designs. In 1935-36, Darl'Mat, Paulin and Pourtout combined their talents to produce the revolutionary and famous Peugeot "Darl-Mat".

The Lancia Ardennes model was the French equivalent of the Italian Aprilia, one of the most technologically advanced cars of its time. This Ardennes coupé was found in Indre in the 1980s. To be restored. but complete, the engine was replaced by a V4 conforming to the original engine.

The bodywork was completely disassembled and then restored but the base was sound and complete. The rear windows were probably modified in the 1960s in order to make them bigger. The interior was redone in beige leather.

The current owner purchased the vehicle in 2010 and had some work done on it. The chrome was redone, the engine was overhauled and it was repainted. In 2017, the Lancia was exhibited at Chantilly Arts et Élégance and was a huge success (see photos). French classic cars registration. 4 new tyres.
