Description

Our Appia Sport Zagato - chassis 812.05 1136 - is the 135th produced. Never fitted with bumpers, it left the factory in 1962 and was bought by Antonio Mansre in Rome. He sold it to a certain Giancarlo Checchi who imported it to his home in Sweden. A mechanic later recovered the car before it was discovered in a pitiful state in the 1990s by its current owner. He bought the Appia from the mechanic in a sorry state and undertook a complete restoration of the car from the chassis up. Part of the aluminium bodywork was redone by hand. The upholstery was completely redone at LSP in Vitry - a company that unfortunately no longer exists. Concerning the engine, the small V4 was entirely rebuilt at Technica Auto in Paris. Our Appia Sport is today in a remarkable state, aesthetically and mechanically irreproachable. Presented on several occasions at Rétromobile, our car is very well known to Lancia enthusiasts in France and to the Lancia Heritage Club. It has been maintained for many years by the Lancia specialist in France - the magician Mr Chevalier. The car is reliable and ready to go for the next trip from Paris to Stockholm, a route it is particularly fond of!

This is a rare opportunity to acquire a very rare and aesthetically pleasing piece, designed by Ercole Spada for Zagato. It is estimated that there are less than a hundred of them left!
