Seeking to commemorate the 25th birthday of the most renowned car to bear the Lamborghini name, the Countach 25th Anniversary was revealed for the first time at the 1988 Italian Grand Prix. This new Countach retained the same visual panache and performance of the existing 5000 QV but featured roughly 500 subtle changes and improvements intended to increase passenger comfort and refine style.
Horacio Pagani, then an employee of Lamborghini, was tasked with redesigning the bodywork. This included the raising of the nose and re-engineering the air intakes to improve the channelling of air towards the front brakes. At the rear of the car, the bumper received subtle styling changes. The air intakes located just behind the doors received thicker strakes that were painted in the body colour, rather than the traditional finish of black. Furthermore, the 15-inch wheels were fabricated as two-piece forged alloy units, and were wider than those fitted to the 5000 QV.
Inside, Lamborghini replaced the Countach’s relatively basic manually operated windows with power-operated units. Furthermore, both seats were equipped with power-adjustable backs to increase driver and passenger comfort. A newer steering wheel was fitted, and the 25th Anniversary Countach was graced with a more powerful air-conditioning system.
This striking example, a European delivery model, built in the final year of production, benefits from the more powerful 5.3 liter Quatrovalve V12 engine with the Euro only Downdraft Weber carburettor induction. This is the highest state of tune for the Countach and produced 455 horsepower with 500NM of torque, sufficient to reach a top speed of 295 Km/hr or 183 mph and accelerating from 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds.

This example left the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory in late 1990 and was delivered to a prominent Saudi family where it resided and used very sparingly, until approximately 2018 when it was imported into Monaco for its second and last owner. Now, here in the US and ready for its next discerning owner.
