THIS 1987 LAMBORGHINI 5000QV "DOWNDRAUGHT"
The first owner of this outstanding Countach QV placed his order in 1985 for delivery via Portman in London. His specific requests included an extra boot lid with wing attached and that the interior be trimmed in leather specially selected by him ( Pelle del cliente noted on the register ). He visited the factory in 1987 to inspect his car on the production line.
The car received its pre-delivery inspection at Portman Lamborghini on 4th August 1987 and returned one year later to undergo its 1000km first service. Subsequent MoT’s from 1992 to 2014 record that the mileage had steadily increased to only 6,500km by the time the car changed hands for the first time at the end of 2014.
The QV’s second owner acquired the car via a well-known specialist notable for his experience with V12 Lamborghini’s. Works carried out at the time included engine-out servicing and engine bay refurbishment, carburettor overhaul, starter motor & alternator rebuilds, new clutch and new tyres. Additional servicing was carried out by Lamborghini Manchester in 2017 at the cost of £10,647.
Having covered around 300km between 2014 and 2019, the Countach was purchased by only its third and current owner. Having received new fuel pumps in 2023, the car’s mileage remains below 6,900km. Naturally, having lived such a cossetted life, the car is replete with its original leather owner’s wallet including driver’s handbook, service and warranty book and Alpine hi-fi instructions. Obviously the immaculate full toolkit and jack equipment are in place alongside the unused space-saver spare wheel. Currently sporting its original, optional rear wing - equipped boot lid, the unadorned lid as supplied by the factory remains with the car should its new owner wish to adopt the more subtle approach!
