There are colors that look good on a Lamborghini. And then there are colors that immediately make you understand why someone signed the order form. Blu Aegir belongs without question to that second category.

This Lamborghini was specified exactly the way an Aventador should be: without restraint. Blu Aegir over Bianco Polar, additional blue contrast stitching, and a generous amount of carbon fiber through the Ad Personam program. Subtle? Not really. But then again, subtlety is not why you buy an Aventador.

The Aventador arrived in 2011 as the successor to the Murciélago and immediately became Lamborghini’s new flagship. Mid-engined. All-wheel drive. A carbon-fiber monocoque. And above all: a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12.

With the Aventador S, that formula was sharpened further. Power increased to 740 hp, while Lamborghini added, among other things, rear-wheel steering, revised aerodynamics, and a further developed suspension setup. The result was an Aventador that remained completely outrageous, but became more precise and more agile at the same time. And in the Roadster, that may be even more interesting.

Because once the two removable carbon-fiber roof panels are stowed away, there is suddenly almost nothing between you and that V12. And that changes the car completely. The engine revs to 8,400 rpm, the sound pours straight into the cockpit, and every shift from the seven-speed automated manual transmission makes its presence very clear.

Then there is this specification. Blu Aegir with Bianco Polar is striking enough on its own, but there is also a nice detail behind it: Lamborghini itself chose Blu Aegir combined with Dianthus wheels for the launch of the Aventador S Roadster.

This car also sits on Dianthus wheels, and together with the blue paint they form a combination that brings out the Aventador’s complex lines particularly well. The additional blue stitching inside and the extensive carbon-fiber trim complete the picture. More importantly, the condition is exceptional.

The car is genuinely in virtually as-new condition. The paint, interior, and finishes have been preserved beautifully and are exactly as you would expect from an Aventador that has been treated with great care. Maintenance was carried out by the manufacturer and dealer. That fits perfectly with the rest of the car.

Because ultimately, an Aventador S Roadster is all about excess. Twelve cylinders. 740 hp. All-wheel drive. Rear-wheel steering. Carbon fiber. Open-top driving. And then this color.
