Description

"The Jensen Interceptor was a grand touring car produced between 1966 and 1976. One of the most coveted versions of this car was the 1974 Jensen Interceptor Convertible, which combined the sleek design and powerful engine of the Interceptor with the open-air experience of a convertible. Under the hood, the 1974 Jensen Interceptor Convertible featured a 7.2 litre V8 engine capable of producing up to 330 horsepower. This engine was paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60mph in just 7.4 seconds. On the outside, the Interceptor Convertible boasted a distinctive design featuring a long hood, short rear deck, and a sleek profile.
This extremely rare convertible example presents well in Royal Blue coachwork which is complemented with a grey leather interior. The paperwork for this impressive convertible shows that it was originally registered in May 1974 to Taylor Steel Stockholders of Sparkbrook, Birmingham. The file for this Jensen also includes a V5C registration document, an owner’s handbook and supplement, stereo operating instructions, a service book and various correspondence from different departments in the Jensen factory in West Bromwich to the early owners of this car. Also present is a photographic history of an earlier restoration. This car runs well but would be improved by some slight remedial works. Given the rarity of the model, this Interceptor would make an ideal investment for any Jensen enthusiast or anyone who appreciates its combination of performance and style.
