Description

"The Jensen Interceptor Mk. III was introduced in 1971 and was fitted with a 7.2 litre, V8 and included air conditioning as standard. In 1974, the convertible was manufactured with only 506 units produced. The Interceptor was not a shape that took readily to being converted to a soft top therefore the whole rear end of the car was restyled with more square-cut lines and a traditional boot lid. This restyling was a complete success giving the car a very balanced profile, especially with the roof down. Jensen had switched from glassfibre to steel for its car bodies. The Interceptor took its styling cues from the Brasinca Uirapuru, with a distinctive large, curving wraparound rear window that doubled as a tailgate. The original specification included electric windows, reclining front seats, a wood rimmed steering wheel, radio with twin speakers, reversing lights and an electric clock. Power steering was included as standard from September 1968 with the convertible version as one of Jensen’s most sought-after models.
Originally registered on 15th May 1974 and supplied by Guy Salmon Ltd., this Interceptor Convertible is a delightfully handsome example and is finished in metallic blue with cream leather interior and a blue hood. The cabin of a Jensen is an area of beauty with an array of dials and switches. The original service books are present together with letters from Jensen Motors Ltd and a Statement of Origin. The 7212cc, V8 engine sounds superb and we are advised she drives with no known faults. The vendor has owned the car since 2006 and she has always been garaged, the only reason for selling this Interceptor is due to lack of storage space. With only four former keepers, clearly this has been a much loved and well cared-for example throughout its 45 years on British roads. The exceptionally low mileage is indicative of how well this Jensen has been looked after."
