"The XK8 is a grand tourer car that was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in both coupé and convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Both the XK8 and XKR are electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph; the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. A navigation system and self-levelling xenon headlamps came as standard with the XKR with Jaguar's adaptive cruise control as an optional feature available on both models. Both come with all leather interior, burr walnut trim and side airbags. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace.
Originally registered on 23rd July 2003 this Jaguar XKR has had only two previous keepers and has been owned by the vendor since 8th March 2007, having purchased her from Guy Salmon at Thames Ditton. Finished in Zircon Blue with ivory leather interior this XKR is in superb condition. The 4196cc V8 supercharged engine runs extremely well and the performance of this outstanding vehicle is impressive to say the least. The fastidious vendor has looked after this Jaguar exceedingly well and has only used the car in suitable weather conditions, hence she presents in virtually unmarked condition today and certainly does not have the appearance of a 15 year old vehicle. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a full years MoT test certificate, together with the original service books, spare keys and original 20” wheels, this Jaguar XKR convertible is surely a classic car of the future."
