"Rather like Malcolm Sayer before him, Ian Callum was a truly gifted Jaguar designer and draftsman. The profile was equally slippery as the C and D-Types before and, interestingly, had at its core design protocol, a minimum frontal area. This is where the paths diverge however, as the XK8 then employed more subsequent Jaguar traits including luxurious seating and burr walnut trim and air-conditioning.
The example presented is no exception has been owned and stored in recent years in a heated and carpeted environment with it, only recently, acquired by the vendor. Unfortunately, the service manual has been mislaid although the owner’s pack is still present. Offered in ‘Platinum’ with a ‘Warm charcoal’ interior, the leather-work is described as excellent throughout and it will arrive fully-serviced by Glamorgan Classic Cars and carrying a 12 month MoT test certificate.
