In 1996, Jaguar revived its iconic “XK” moniker for the long-awaited XJS replacement. The new XK was a significant leap forward for Jaguar’s flagship GT model and put Jaguar squarely back in the fight with the finest grand tourers. Offered as a coupe and a convertible, the XK was the first Jaguar to feature the 32-valve AJ V-8 engine, fitted to a substantially reworked chassis, shared with the Aston Martin DB7. Jaguar’s design director Geoff Lawson penned the sleek profile, which was fresh and modern, with subtle nods to Jaguars of the past. In 2007, the XK got a total makeover, with new styling, a heavily revised 5-liter version of the AJ-series V-8, and an all-new aluminum alloy monocoque chassis. Rapid, luxurious, and with lovely styling, the XK is sure to become a future classic.
This well-maintained 2013 Jaguar XK ‘Portfolio Pack’ convertible shows fewer than 6,800 miles from new and presents in excellent order throughout. Standard equipment includes a 385 horsepower 5-liter V-8 engine, six-speed automatic gearbox, heated/cooled seats, Bowers & Wilkins 525-watt audio, and DVD navigation system. Options include the Advanced Technology Package, HD radio, and the Portfolio Package, which adds special interior trim, chrome mirrors, and unique 20-inch wheels. Daylight reveals a hint of blue in the Celestial Black paintwork, which plays beautifully against the Navy blue leather interior with contrasting tan stitching. The clean Carfax report shows the most recent owner acquired it in 2014 with a few hundred miles, and dealer service records reveal consistent maintenance. Beautifully presented and highly appointed, this stylish modern classic is certain to satisfy its next caretaker for many years to come.To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/0120.
