Description

"Although having a family resemblance to the XK120 and XK140, the XK150 was radically modernised. A one piece windscreen replaced the split screen and the wing line no longer dropped as much over the doors. The bonnet was widened, opened down to the wings and, on the roadster, the bulkhead was moved back four inches to make the bonnet longer. In the interior, the XK140's walnut dashboard was replaced by one trimmed in leather and chrome. On the early drophead coupés, an aluminium centre dash panel with an 'X' pattern engraving was fitted which looked like the early 3.8 litre, E-Type, whilst thinner doors gave more interior space. The four wheel Dunlop 12 disc brakes appeared for the first time although it was theoretically possible to order a car with drums and either wire wheels or disc wheels could be specified. Suspension and chassis were very like those on the XK140.
Presented in Old English White with red leather interior, this lovely righthand drive XK150 fixedhead coupé was supplied new on 12th May 1960 to C. Metcalfe Ltd in Sheffield before swiftly being sold to a Mr Badley later that very month. We are informed this desirable 3.4 litre manual with overdrive example is fully matching numbers and purchased by our vendor as part of a significant private collection in 2010 therefore it has benefitted from continual maintenance and when not in use stored inside in a professional ventilated Carcoon. Offered with a lovely history file including a comprehensively stamped original buff logbook and collection of MoT’s dating back to 2009 showing continual use and invoices for servicing and maintenance all the way back to 1969 in what is a very good level of provenance.
The condition of the car can be described as very good indeed, the paintwork and chrome show little signs of age, the interior is in good condition as are the wire wheels. A car that would represent a great investment whilst giving a collector or enthusiast many years of enjoyment therefore viewing is recommended.

The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day.
