NOTE The XK 140 is certainly the most desirable convertible of all the XK series.
In fact, compared to the XK 120, it has more accessible doors, a more comfortable and accessible driving setting for people of taller stature, it is equipped with two additional rear seats and all the finishes are much more accurate.
In addition, the XK 140 has an adjustable steering wheel and a rack and pinion steering box so it is much lighter and more precise.
It maintains the soft and sinuous lines with the walnut briar finishes that will be lost in the XK 150.
This beautiful and rare Jaguar convertible is a car for the European market and one of only 2310 left-hand drive cars produced.
It was sold new in Germany by the Frankfurt importer to Colonel Kelley of the US Forces who brought it back with him when he returned to the USA.
It was subsequently imported to Italy in the early 2000s where it was restored and registered in 2002.
The car is estimated to have driven around 15,000km since then.
A large amount of documentation is available with dozens of invoices relating to the restoration work carried out.
The second Italian owner bought it in 2009 and in 2012 requested and obtained the ASI homologation with GOLD plate.
The car has always been used with care and has participated in numerous national and foreign rallies.
Periodic technical controls (MOT-TUV) have always been carried out regularly and the last will be valid until OCTOBER 2024.
It has just undergone a review and general service with the execution of the following interventions:
• replacement of oil and engine oil filter
• liquid level control
• water hoses and belt check
• battery replacement
• replacement of spark plugs
• replacement of front and rear brake cylinders
• replacement of front and rear brake linings
• replacement of the fuel gauge float
The car is currently in perfect running condition and able to tackle any journey immediately without having to carry out any further maintenance work.
The engine and chassis numbers match as indicated in both the ASI certificate and the British Heritage Certificate.
