Description

• Extraordinary condition with extensive documentation and history
• No-costs-spared renovation between 1989 and 1991
• Has spent its entire life in Sweden

This 1954 Jaguar XK120, chassis number S 678292, is a left-hand drive Drop Head Coupé (DHC) in Special Equipment (SE) specification. It has spent its entire life in Sweden, has been sent to England for restoration on several occasions, and is in superb condition.
This example was manufactured on April 15th, 1954, and rolled out of the factory adorned in a black exterior, with a tan interior and a black soft top. It was delivered to its first owner, Lord Sten Bielke, on May 5th, 1955, via the Swedish distributor Fredlunds.
As per the accompanying Heritage Certificate, it was manufactured with engine number F2821-8S, body number P2533, and gearbox number JL22434. Per the Jaguar Service Bulletin 95A, this XK120 received wire wheels for better brake cooling and the C-type cylinder head, boosting output to 180 horsepower.
The car's history is extensively well-documented in magazines and books. It has all documentation since new, and in the 1970s, it was sent to the renowned Jaguar specialist Oldham and Crowther for a complete restoration.
It returned to the UK in 1989 for a no-cost-spared, all-out restoration executed by prominent Mill Lane Engineering. The total cost was £87,000 at the time, amounting to almost £240,000 today. Today, the car still looks fresh out of restoration, a nod to the thoroughness of the work done and the care it has received since.
Each owner of this XK120 is known, and the car's documentation is exhaustive. It has remained in its current owner's collection for the past 34 years and has been exceptionally well cared for. Thorough inspection and service have been performed by classic and modern classic specialist MOTIKON of Uppsala, Sweden.
