Description

Kirk F. White, a lauded sports car enthusiast who is both a pioneer and icon in the collector-car industry, regards this prized 1952 Jaguar XK120 so highly that he has brought it into his stable of great sports cars three times over a 50-year period. He has steadfastly safeguarded the charming Roadster, rather than restoring it.

Known for sourcing rare European sports cars worldwide, Kirk F. White Motorcars by 1971 had interests in retail sales, service, restorations, publishing, collector-car auctions, and co-ownership of a Ferrari 512 M with Roger Penske. White speaks passionately about this well-maintained, yet unaltered, XK120. “You’ve watched me let many spectacular automobiles slip through my fingers over the years. But this Jaguar stayed with us, always being carefully maintained, yet remaining just as it was built, and always a joy to drive.”

Finished in black over tan leather, the XK120 sports a lovely patina and has selectively and carefully received attention when needed, including new leather seating surfaces. It retains its original engine and wiring loom and still wears its original leather spring gaiters on the rear suspension. A rich luster of history and stewardship imbues this beloved Jaguar, which is being relinquished by one of the world’s great motorcar enthusiasts so that its story may continue.
