Description

"The old Rolls-Royce adage, “If it looks good, it is good” also applies in this instance. The profile of the XJ-C is understated chic. It is such a departure from the normal output from one of the largest motorcar producers in word during the 60s and 70s. With the windows down, the vision both from inside the cabin and externally exuded space and style. Not only were they produced in a short run but they were priced higher than their four-door counterpart. Exclusivity was inevitable.
Browns Lane produced this example in Iris Blue, very close to the colour it now wears. Obviously resprayed in recent years, it would benefit from a rub-down again now although it is perfectly serviceable and sports no corrosion.  Much mechanical work has been undertaken by the last owner.  The lefthand fuel tank was been replaced as well as the sender unit, pumps and fuel lines. The suspension has been off and bearings, bushes, seals and springs have all been replaced. To avoid flooding, the perennial problem with these motorcars, a manual choke has been installed, the callipers have been overhauled with new pads and the interior has not been overlooked with the biscuit leather clean and tidy. Running well and with an MoT test certificate valid until June next year, a service history and an original owner's manual, this handsome coupé is ‘too cool for school’."
