"The Jaguar saloon launched in 1997 was codenamed X308 by the manufacturer and badged as an XJ8 for the market place. Both names make reference to the new model line-ups V8 power unit. Available as either a 3200cc or 4000cc version. The exterior styling was similar to the previous model with some minor refinements.
