Description
"1990 Jaguar XJ 40
Manual gearbox
Good general condition
The Jaguar XJ40 is the last car developed during Sir William Lyons' lifetime. It is the successor of the superb XJ6 and XJ12. Unveiled to the public in 1986, its design began in the 1970s. Its drag coefficient was improved, resulting in a reduction in fuel consumption. A godsend after the oil crisis at the end of the 1970s. The first engines that equipped the XJ40 were a six cylinder 2.9L or 3.6L. Then these engines became respectively 3.2L (which will equip the Aston Martin DB7 between 1994 and 1999) and 4.0L. On the gearbox side, several automatic transmissions followed one another and a 5-speed manual transmission was added. The XJ40 combines comfort, flexibility and a touch of sportiness, making it a versatile car.
This 1990 XJ40 is a very well maintained third hand. Equipped with a manual gearbox that handles very well, the car takes to the road without any problems. It starts right up and the original clutch doesn't make it difficult to drive. The interior is in good general condition despite some defects due to its use. Two small stars are to be noted on the windshield as well as the exhaust line which squeaks a bit when passing bumps or potholes. The exterior of the car is also in good condition. Simply put, this car is perfect for everyday use and is just waiting for its new owner to get back on the road!"
