1982 JAGUAR XJ12
Serial number: SAJJDALW4CC348478
French classic car registration
Elegant and understated combination
Designed by Pininfarina
The Jaguar XJ first appeared in 1968 as the successor to the MK2 series. That same year, the new Jaguar, designed by the brilliant Sir William Lyons, was named "Car of the Year" by CAR Magazine. Its performance was impressive: 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds and a top speed of 205 km/h. In 1972, the V12 version was introduced and earned the title of "Best Sedan in the World," with leather interiors, walnut burr trim, and even more power: 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 233 km/h. It combined the comfort of a luxury sedan with the performance of a sports car!
In 1979, the Jaguar XJ12 received a new design. Styled by the prestigious Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina, this version featured more modern and refined lines while retaining the classic elegance of the XJ series.
This Jaguar XJ12 was purchased by its current owner in 2017 and has been regularly maintained since, with a comprehensive file of invoices available. Notably, a recent invoice from the René Sontrop workshop for €5,000 attests to the care given to the car's presentation. The car is finished in a sleek black paint, perfectly complementing the beige leather interior. The only issue is the headliner, which will require some adjustment. The car is sold with its manuals.
During the road test, the Jaguar proved to be a pleasure to drive with its automatic transmission. This XJ12 offers a unique opportunity to enjoy a well-maintained and comfortable classic sedan, ideal for enthusiasts of vintage luxury cars.
