• Elegant Tourer in Running and Driving Condition
• The Fulfillment of Jaguar’s Grace, Space and Pace Mantra
• Ideal Drive or Restore Candidate

The Model: Although visually similar to its Mark VIII predecessor, the new Mark IX carried the Jaguar range to new levels of power and refinement. Improvements included the uprated 3.8 liter XK engine shared with the XK150 sports car and the option of an automatic transmission all in a package costing half the price of its Bentley and Rolls Royce rivals. The new engine options could easily power the big Jaguar to over 100 miles per hour. This was the first Jaguar to offer power steering and four-wheel servo-assisted disk brakes making the Mark IX a very advanced automobile for its day. The interior boasted extensive use of Connolly leather, walnut wood veneers and deep Wilton wool carpet. Exterior options offered a range of single and two-tone paint choices. The success of the Mark IX firmly established Jaguar as a manufacturer of high-performance quality luxury vehicles.

The Car: This graceful Mark IX is presented as an honest older restoration in running and driving condition. This car can be enjoyed as a driver in its current patinaed condition or become an excellent basis for a full restoration. This car was restored in attractive burgundy over silver paint approximately 15 years ago. While the overall restoration is older, the wire wheels and whitewall tires are new. This Mark IX also benefits from the addition of a Vintage Air A/C system. The brightwork is in good condition overall. The leather interior and the engine bay are complete. Whatever your pleasure this elegant Jaguar is ready to add Grace, Space and Pace to your collection.
