The Mark II or Mk II was a four-door sports limousine, released by Jaguar in 1959 as the successor to the Mark I, with a 2.4L, 3.4L and 3.8L engine. Some details of the bodywork were improved and changed. Since then, disc brakes were standard on all four wheels.

Originally sold as a 3.8 automatic. During the restoration, this 3.8L was replaced by a 4.2L Jaguar engine and a good automatic transmission.
The chassis is hard. The basis of the bodywork is very good and hard. The bodywork was stripped back to bare metal about 20 years ago and all rust was removed. Over the years, the Jaguar has had some rust in places under the paintwork which you can see in the photos. These places are often touched up for a few hundred euros before a sale, but we prefer to show it how it really is. This is a real Jaguar and not stuffed full of fillers!

The Jaguar includes a folder with various maintenance invoices (worth more than €7,000).

The MKII had a new battery and a maintenance service last year.

The MKII is equipped with various options including a Pioneer audio, Motolita wooden steering wheel, power steering, chrome wire wheels, and an LPG installation with a 70L gas tank. We noticed during our test drive that the power steering works very well.

The colour combination was very tastefully done, the bodywork was sprayed in dark green. A very nice combination with the red interior. The headliner stitching is loose in a few places as can be seen in the photos.

The Jaguar is 54 years old and exempt from Dutch periodic inspections!

This MKII on LPG is a nice ''daily driver''. The paintwork has some points of attention, bu you can take part in rallies and tours without any worries. You could fully respray it if you want the paintwork to be of a higher level.

The doors, sills, mudguards, bonnet and boot lid have a good fit.
