On the 19th January 1962, a Jaguar enthusiast was able to take ownership of this marvellous Jaguar Mk II 3.4, whilst making the whole of the Isle of Wight turn green with envy at the same time. It must have been absolute heaven to hit the roads in this delightful sports limousine. The Mark II or Mk II was a 4-door sports limousine introduced by Jaguar in 1959 as successor to the Mk I. It initially came as a 2.4 or 3.4-litre version. Parts of the bodywork was improved. Starting with the Mk II disc brakes became standard on all fours. The Mark II 3.4 (3422cc) straight-six delivered 210 Ps taking it to a top speed of 195 km/hr. 28,663 of these Jaguar Mk II 3.4’s were built in total.

The car has some fantastic documentation to go with it. What to make of the original 1962 warranty and registration book? Quite unique wouldn’t you say? There are also various test certificates present as well as the original car wallet containing the original service booklet and owner’s manual.

A few years ago this Jaguar was restored with the addition of some modern upgrades. It now boasts air-conditioning and a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Our Jaguar Mk II has a British Racing Green finish matched with a lovely beige leather interior. The car presents very neatly indeed with gleaming chrome brightwork in abundance. The interior trim was fully reupholstered during the restoration. The beige leather interior and the woodwork are both in excellent condition. Just as it should be this Jaguar is fitted with chrome wire wheels. The Smith instruments all work as they should and look splendid. Every control is in good working order.

The engine delivers more than ample power at any moment and even now still provides this Jaguar with a rather attractive performance. The engine is helped along by its 5-speed manual gearbox with its fine gear ratios. The suspension and braking systems were replaced and are very much up to their respective tasks. Please feel free to step in and enjoy all the style and comfort of the world from the time that Jaguar probably built the best sports limousines in the world!
