Description

"The car that makes Great Britain a great sports car power can make you one too" - Jaguar advertisement in 1961.

Following the success of the famous XK models, the Jaguar E-type was born in 1961. The official presentation took place on 15 March 1961 in Geneva and it only just made it in time. The show car that was to be presented left the Coventry plant only 18 hours before the presentation. It was Jaguar PR manager Bob Berry who personally drove the E-type to Geneva. Bad weather and a delayed ferry didn't make his job any easier. At speeds of up to 220 kilometres an hour, the E-type arrived in Geneva just one hour before the show.
To this day, the Jaguar E-type is a household name for many people. A classic car that has not been surpassed in many ways. Enzo Ferrari once said: "The most beautiful car ever made".

For all its beauty, the series one E t-type came with some flaws that made for a little less drivers’ car. Especially cooling and braking were a bit under par. Not so with the revised systems on the second series: now both the cooling-system as the braking had been brought to another level, fitting wo the incredible power the iconic 4.2 litre six-cylinder engine produced. Could this be the perfect E-type? Looks combined with power and useability, all wrapped-up in one iconic design!

The full matching-numbers Jaguar E-type offered here has been sensitively restored to maintain as much originality as possible. It was delivered new through Jaguar Cars New York on 11/11/1968, making this lovely car a true end-of-war symbol. It still retains its beautiful original color combination of Light (pastel) blue paint with dark blue leather upholstery and a dark blue mohair softtop.fins itself in an incredibly original condtion comes in its beautiful original Pastel Blue and forms together with the dark blue leather interior a beautiful whole. The car’s beautiful patina all-around gives it plenty of character and the perfect technics ensure a perfectly smooth and safe ride. The engine starts on the turn of the key, revs freely and pulls strong at all revs. This power is assisted by a siper smooth-shifting original gearbox and put on the road through the incredible suspension and great tires. No costs to be foreseen, just get in and drive!

This car comes with a big binder full of invoices, the Jaguar heritage certificate and old registration forms. There even are mails from the British owner to the previous Canadian owner, both of them equally E-type nuts!

This is a great opportunity to get a perfect example of an iconic car, available now @ RNR!
