‘Attractive specification and original interior’
The Jaguar E-Type, launched in 1961, is an absolute icon of motoring history, epitomising the exuberance of the Swinging Sixties. A perfect blend of revolutionary aerodynamics and cutting-edge performance (240 km/h) at a price that was unbeatable at the time, this masterpiece by designer Malcolm Sayer was initially produced as a coupé and a two-seater convertible, before practical 2+2 versions with an extended wheelbase were introduced in 1966 to accommodate rear passengers. Produced across three series until 1974, it remains one of the most iconic designs of the 20th century.
First registered in October 1967, this Jaguar E-Type is a European left-hand-drive model. It is powered by the legendary 4.2-litre engine, fitted here with three SU carburettors. The colour appears to be Navy Blue and the interior is leather.
Presented in its original condition, this E-Type stands out for the absence of excessive restoration. Its bodywork is sound, whilst its period interior displays a beautiful patina that only time can create.
In 2021, a bill totalling over €7,000 was issued, covering a service that included the replacement of the clutch slave cylinder and shock absorbers, amongst other items, and a 2021 valuation report valued the car at €55,000.
In terms of performance, the legendary inline-six engine has recently been brought back to life. During a test drive, the car proved to be sound and ran well, confirming the good condition of its main components. However, as it has been driven very little recently, a routine check-up and a service to replace consumables would be advisable before taking it out on long road journeys with peace of mind.
