Description

This very original E-Type 4,2 Litre OTS is a rare Series 1 1/2 version. This was the interim model between the Series 1 and 2, and only produced from Juni 1967 until July 1968. All series 1 1/2 had open headlights, but kept the narrow air intake in the bonnet and the good looking rear lights of the first series. In the interior, new reclining seats were fitted and an improved dashboard layout was introduced. The Series 1 1/2 is generally known as the best driving E-Type with keeping as much as possible of the original design.

The example we are offering for sale was delivered new in USA in March 1968, and finished in the rare but stunning colour "Ascot Fawn". The car is in incredible original condition, and the total mileage of 18,037 miles is correct. It is still in original and unrestored condition, and only had a quality repaint in its original colour. The rest of the car is as it left the Browns Lane factory in 1968, including the original vinyl hood and completely original interior. Even the carpets are still the original ones, and remain in beautiful condition. The car is technically completely overhauled by Jaguar Land Rover Classic, and is ready for daily use. This really is a timewarp car and still in very good condition. It drives incredibly smooth and soft, and the driving experience is as only an unrestored car can offer. It is of course matching nrs. and colours, and comes with the original manual, service book and other period documents. On top of that, it also comes with a JLR Classic warranty !

This is a car for the real connoisseur, and it would be a shame to restore it as everything still works and looks incredibly well. It's a proper classic car, offering a fantastic vintage ambience and a great driving experience. Cars in a similar original condition are almost impossible to find today, and hopefully this wonderful example will find a new custodian who will keep it as it is. This E-Type is priced to sell and will put a big smile on the face of its future owner as classic cars like this one are only coming very rarely on the market.
