Completed by the factory on 28 February 1967, this E-Type Series 1 4.2-Litre Roadster was originally finished in Opalescent Silver Blue over a Dark Blue interior with a Blue soft-top, just as it is presented today. Shipped to Jaguar’s distributorship in New York City, the car was sold new to an R.S. Goldsamt, who reportedly owned the car for the next 22 years. After selling the car to an enthusiast in New Mexico, the car was fully restored. After a minor mechanical malfunction, however, the car was parked in that owner’s garage for the following 20 years.

Well-preserved during its time in static storage, it received a full mechanical restoration prior to being acquired by a German owner and shipped to Europe. Upon its arrival in Europe, the E-Type received a full repaint in its factory-correct Opalescent Silver Blue in 2016 and was sold back to an American enthusiast later that same year.

Acquired by Mr. Guikas from that American owner through RM Sotheby’s in August of 2019, the car is accompanied by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, confirming its production details and the retention of its numbers-matching engine and cylinder head.

Sorti d'usine le 28 février 1967, ce cabriolet Type E Série 1 4,2 litres était bleu argenté opalescent, avec un intérieur bleu foncé et une capote bleue, tel qu'il se présente aujourd'hui. Après avoir été expédié au distributeur de New York, il fut vendu neuf à un certain R.S. Goldsamt, qui l'aurait conservé pendant vingt-deux ans. Une fois revendue à un amateur du Nouveau-Mexique, la voiture fut restaurée en totalité, mais à cause d'un petit défaut mécanique, elle ne quitta pas son garage pendant les vingt années qui suivirent.

Bien conservée pendant toutes ces années d'immobilité, elle bénéficia d'une restauration mécanique complète avant d'être acquise par un Allemand qui l'expédia en Europe. Là, elle eut droit en 2016 à une peinture complète, toujours en bleu argenté opalescent, puis fut revendue à un amateur américain plus tard dans l'année.

Achetée par M. Guikas à cet Américain en août 2019 par l'entremise de RM Sotheby's, cette voiture est munie d'un certificat délivré par le Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust qui précise ses données de montage et confirme qu'elle dispose toujours d'un moteur et d'une culasse à numéros concordants.
