Built in October 1965, this E-Type Roadster was finished in a rare triple black color scheme and dispatched to Jaguar Cars New York. On December 21, the Jaguar was sold to its first owner, Ronald Goldstein of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Remarkably, it remained in his family’s ownership until earlier this year, when it was sold to the consignor.

Mr. Goldstein drove the Jaguar sparingly during the early years of his ownership. In August 1966, Cartelli Pontiac of Holyoke, Massachusetts, performed the first service at 1,630 miles and the E-Type accrued just a few thousand miles more over the next six years. Last registered in 1972 and presented today in unrestored, untouched, garage-find condition, this E-Type has not been driven in nearly 50 years. The odometer showed just 8,134 miles at the time of cataloguing.

A true survivor, this E-Type appears to retain its original paint, upholstery, soft top, Dunlop tires, Blaupunkt radio, Triplex glass, and serial-numbered components. Factory-applied chalk marks are visible on the firewall and top boot, and the sale includes the original manufacturer’s warranty certificate, maintenance booklet, owner’s manual, dealer directory, and service receipt from 1966. An important and iconic model from one of England’s most successful sports car manufacturers, the Series I E-Type is among the most enduring postwar classics. Finding a low-mileage, triple black 4.2 Roadster that has sat undisturbed in the garage of its original owner for almost five decades is every collector’s dream.
